Farewell to PROF R.L MALHOTRA
Professor R.L. MALHOTRA passed out with a B.TECH degree from the Department of Petroleum Engineering in the year 1965. Immediately after passing out he joined O.N.G.C and worked at various positions for about 33 years. In 1999, he joined ISM at the prestigious O.N.G.C chair and since then has been a mentor to numerous students. On his resignation from the post The Students and Faculty of The Department of Petroleum Engineering bid farewell to Prof. Malhotra on 14th July 2009.
After the bouquet presentation ceremony faculty members of Petroleum Engineering Department Dr A.K Pathak, Prof. Sukumar Laik and Prof V.P.Sharma recounted the cherish-able memories and the close association time spent with Prof. Malhotra.
In his farewell address, Prof. Malhotra described his incredulous journey from ISM to ISM. He inspired the students to strive harder for success and must not limit their endeavours to mere job seeking graduates and also emphasized to understand the importance of time and maintain good personal relationships to survive in the cooperate world.
The students also recounted their in and out of class experiences. An excellent teacher and the ever helping and caring nature made him quite popular among the students. This was followed by musical tribute to Prof. Malhotra and a High Tea session.
Friends, colleagues and students will undoubtedly remember him for his charismatic ever smiling face , spirit, ability to calmly approach and solve problems of not only the department but of ISM itself.
